What Helped Me During My Chemotherapy Treatments

Nausea

  • Putting organic ginger under my tongue
  • Smelling peppermint oil
  • Sucking on peppermint candy
  • Using the nausea medicine the Dr prescribed
  • Resting
  • Being in sunlight, but not too much sun because your skin might be sensitive to direct sunlight
  • Having a bucket or container near you if you do need to vomit

Blisters in my mouth

  • Baking soda with warm water, my Dr recommended, salt and warm water, but that never worked with me.
  • Not eating acidic foods
  • Not eating crunchy foods

Hair loss

I cut my hair before I started my chemo treatment, short enough to make a small ponytail, so when my hair started to fall out, it was not all my hair falling out all at once.

I dealt with anemia

  • Iron pills
  • Green veggies

Peripheral Neuropathy

  • I used cold therapy ice pack socks and gloves during my chemo sessions
  • Resting when needed
  • Comfortable shoes and socks, do not wear shoes and socks that are too tight
  • Circulation is the key, so moving your toes and hands is good and massaging the areas with lotion is good as well
